News Desk: Another step has been taken to increase the leave of secondary and higher education institutions. This holiday is extended till September 11. This decision was made due to the corona infection situation.

On Thursday (August 26), a meeting was held at noon with the technical committee including the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education to monitor the situation in Corona and reopen the educational institution. Education Minister Dipu Moni informed about the decision there. Later, the matter was informed through a notification from the Ministry of Education. According to meeting sources, the school-college will be opened if the corona infection rate drops to 6-7 percent. In that case, as per the previous announcement, the current year's SSC and HSC candidates will take classes six days a week after opening the educational institution. And in the first step, students of other classes will be taken one day at a time.

Students in a class will be seated in three rooms. When the situation is under control, they will take classes two days a week. Meanwhile, the same meeting decided to open the university. There, the education minister said, the university can be opened step by step from October 16 in accordance with the health rules. Before that, the information of how many teachers and students have been vaccinated in a university should be sent to the University Grants Commission (UGC) in the form of a table. Information on how many of them have taken the second dose of vaccine, how many have taken one dose, how many students of the dormitory hall have been vaccinated should be sent to UGC. Education Minister Dipu Moni says there is no opportunity to keep educational institutions closed.

There is pressure from school-college and student-parents, even if it is opened, there is a risk of corona infection. If the overall infection rate falls below 10 percent, we want to open educational institutions.

For that, the National Advisory Committee will be asked to know about this at the beginning of next week. According to their advice, the decision will be announced in the media the next day after meeting with the concerned people including both the ministries again on Wednesday next week.
