Parimani in court after two-point remand

Entertainment desk: After a six-day remand in two cases in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act, the popular heroine of Dhaka film Parimani has been produced in the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court.

Police produced him in the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court at 11.40am on Friday (August 13). At that time he was kept in the jail of the court. Sub-inspector of police Shahidul Islam, the officer-in-charge of the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court, confirmed the matter. Earlier, he was produced before the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court on Tuesday (August 10th) after a four-day remand. CID then applied for a five-day remand for a proper investigation into the drug control law case against him. Following the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debabrata Biswas granted him a two-day remand. Last Thursday (August 5), the police produced Parimani and Raj in the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court. Banani Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Sheikh Sohel Rana, the investigating officer of the case, then requested to remand them for seven days for proper investigation of the case. After the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mamunur Rashid granted remand to each of them for four days.

On Wednesday (August 4) afternoon, members of the RAB's intelligence team led by an executive magistrate of the RAB's mobile court raided Parimani's Banani home. After a four-hour operation, he was arrested at around 8 pm and taken to the RAB headquarters. The RAB said that a large quantity of drugs was seized from his house at that time. The next day, the RAB filed a case against Parimani under the Narcotics Act. After that, RAB started raiding the house of producer and actor Nazrul Islam Raj around 8:30 pm. According to the information obtained on the basis of preliminary interrogation, the RAB went to the operation.

After a two-hour operation, RAB members arrested Raj from his home in Banani and took him away at around 10:15 pm. The RAB also said that drugs and pornography equipment were recovered from Raj's house. The RAB filed two separate cases against Raj under the Narcotics Act and the Pornography Act.
