4 UPDF (Prasit) members detained with arms in Rangamati's Langadu

News Desk: On the basis of intelligence information, an army patrol team raided Chhota Kattali area of ​​Langadu upazila at around 3 (03) July 31 and arrested 4 UPDF (Prasit) party collectors with weapons.

The arrested terrorists are: Suren Chakma (36 years), Annasang Chakma (45 years), Anil Chakma (19 years) and Simon Chakma (40 years).

From the detainees 1 AK-22 rifle, 8 rounds of ammunition, 1 weapon magazine, 1 walkie-talkie set, 1 solar charger, collection receipt book, 4 mobile sets, 1 wrist watch, 1 fake ID. Cards, banners with anti-state slogans, Rs 63,592 in cash and other equipment were recovered.

The detainees had been creating unrest in various upazilas of Rangamati for a long time through terrorist activities and extortion. All these terrorists are known to be active members of the armed wing of the UPDF (Prasit) party.

Legal action is being taken against the detainees.

The army will continue such operations to keep the security situation in the Chittagong Hill Tracts stable.
