News Desk: Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayor Atiqul Islam has said that one has to clean one's house every Saturday at 10 am to avoid Aedes mosquito or dengue. The DNCC mayor made the remarks while inquiring about the overall situation in different areas of the DNCC online from Nagar Bhaban in Gulshan on Friday (July 30) morning.

"Clean-up activities need to be transformed into a social movement, and all of us need to spontaneously clean our homes every Saturday at 10am for 10 minutes, avoiding the shame of the Aedes mosquito breeding," he said. Atiqul Islam said, "I will clean my house tomorrow at 10 am on Saturday and I will share it from my Facebook verified page (Atiqul Islam)." At this time the city dwellers also have to clean their houses at the same time. And he called for sharing it on Facebook. The DNCC mayor said they should take care not to allow water to accumulate in their homes for more than three days in flower tubs, unused tires, coconut shells, various types of open packets or pots, roofs or anything else.

Besides, in order to ensure that no one dies of dengue and chikungunya during the corona epidemic, public awareness activities are being carried out in 54 wards of 10 regions of Dhaka North City Corporation simultaneously for 10 days from July 26 to August 8, including Friday. Atiqul Islam said free dengue testing has been arranged in 44 urban health centers of Dhaka North City Corporation for the welfare of the city dwellers.

Besides, 'Sabar Dhaka' mobile apps are available in DNCC citizen service, number 333 in emergency service and hotline numbers 09602222333 and 09602222334 of DNCC are running.
