Lockdown and curfew are not a solution: GM Quader

News Desk: Jatiya Party (JAPA) chairman and deputy leader of the opposition Golam Mohammad (GM) Quader has said that lockdown and curfew is not a solution to the current situation in the country. He made the remarks in a statement on Friday (July 30th).

It is not possible to keep such people at home. "People's lives need to be normalized," he said. Besides, corona treatment field hospital should be constructed in the infection prone areas and necessary number of doctors and other health workers should be recruited. In a statement, the JPA chairman said that the assistance being provided by the government was very inadequate and at the same time a large part of it was not reaching the real poor.

In the current situation of the country, lockdown and curfew are not able to provide any solution to deal with Corona. The lockdown is going on but as per the government, about 15,000 people are being infected with new corona every day, he said, adding that more than 200 people are dying every day. The general public thinks this number is probably even higher. Infections and mortality are on the rise and there are no signs or causes of decline.

Noting that the situation in Corona is not improving in reality, GM Quader said that although the situation in Corona is not improving in Lockdown, the misery of the working people has increased several times.
