Crowds of Shimulia passengers in hostile weather

News Desk: Hundreds of people are still crossing the Padma on the Shimulia-Banglabazar route in hostile weather without heeding the restrictions. Apart from emergency vehicles, private cars and people were seen getting on the ferry from dawn on Friday (July 30).

It can be seen on the ground that there is pressure on the Dhaka-bound passengers coming from Banglabazar to Shimuliaghat. Although police checkposts and mobile courts have been set up in the ghat area, passengers are leaving for Dhaka with various excuses. Meanwhile, no one was seen following the hygiene rules at the ghats and ferries. Passengers are getting off the ferry in small and big vehicles and leaving for their destination. The vehicles coming for the crossing do not have to wait long as there is no traffic pressure at the wharf.
