Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has said that there would be no need for restrictions if 100 per cent people wore masks and adhered to hygiene rules.

He made the remarks during a regular briefing at his official residence on Saturday (July 24)

Obaidul Quader said that the uncertainty of people's lives increases when they work hard in lockdown. However, the government has taken a difficult decision in the public interest to protect life.

The general secretary of the Awami League called for strengthening the prevention system to prevent corona infection as well as controlling the high level of infection by maintaining full vigilance and complying with the ongoing restrictions.

"If our indifference continues to increase the infection uncontrollably, a terrible situation could arise," he said. Therefore, in the public interest and protection of public life, the Sheikh Hasina government has decided to impose these strict restrictions.

Obaidul Quader requested everyone to stay in their respective homes by accepting the sacrifice for the need of life or the need to survive.

He said no one would go out unnecessarily. Restrictions would not have been necessary if 100% masks and hygiene rules were followed. But for some as a baby gets older, he or she will outgrow this.

Obaidul Quader called upon all the leaders and workers of the Awami League and the people's representatives at various levels to continue their humanitarian assistance to stand by the unemployed and helpless people along with the various initiatives of the government.
