A four-member investigation committee has called for a ferry to hit the pillars of the Padma Bridge

News Desk: A four-member committee has been formed to investigate the incident of ferry collision on the 18th pillar of Padma Bridge. The committee was formed on Friday (July 23) at noon by the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC).

BIWTC Director (Commercial) Ashiquzzaman has been made the convener of the committee. The other members of the committee are- Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Director. Shah Jahan, AGM (Marine) Ahmed Ali and AGM (Engineering) Rubeluzzaman of BIWTC. Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Shipping on Friday noon.

Jahangir Alam Khan confirmed this information. "The investigation report has been directed to be submitted to the chairman of the agency within the next three days," he said. Earlier, in another order from BIWTC, Abdur Rahman, in-charge master officer in charge of ferry Shah Jalal, was suspended. It was said that Abdur Rahman, the inland master officer in charge of the ferry Shah Jalal, who was plying on the Shimulia-Madaripur Banglabazar route in Munshiganj, had been suspended today for failing to operate properly.

Incidentally, on the way from Banglabazar Ghat in Madaripur to Shimulia Ghat in Munshiganj at around 10:15 am on Friday, a row row ferry collided with the 17th pillar of the Padma Bridge of Shahjalal. 20 passengers of the ferry were injured.
