News Desk: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Fazle Nur Taposh has requested the people of the capital to complete the slaughter of sacrificial animals by today (Thursday).

He said that the officials and employees of DSCC have been working tirelessly for the last three days to clean up various wastes including removal of animal wastes. They also have families and Eid. They also need a day off. For this reason, do not slaughter animals even on the third day of Eid and finish slaughtering the sacrificial animals within today. He made the request while talking to media persons at Nagar Bhaban on Thursday (July 22).

Mayor Fazle Nur Taposh said most of the animal waste in different wards of the DSCC has been removed. Today, on the second day of Eid, 30 percent of the animals are being slaughtered, he said, adding that many people say that animals can be sacrificed for up to three days. So many people are thinking of slaughter tomorrow. I urge those who are thinking like this to finish the work of animal sacrifice today. Meanwhile, the Lalbagh area of Old Dhaka was visited on Thursday morning and most of the animal waste was removed. However, waste and dirt has been found lying somewhere.

In the area of Azimpur China Building, garbage and rubbish have been found in front of various houses and flats. Some waste was also found on the main road near Azimpur bus stand. However, most of the waste has been removed due to the continuous efforts of DSCC officials and employees.

Even today animal sacrifices are being made. So new waste is being accumulated in different areas. DSCC cleaners have been working to remove waste from yesterday morning as well as today.
