News Desk: For the first time, the government has allowed five companies to export 2 million square feet and a total of 10 million square feet of wet-blue leather.
In a letter to the chief regulator of the import and export regulatory office of the commerce ministry (Export-1 branch) on Saturday (July 10th), the companies were allowed to export wet-blue leather.
ASK Investment, Messrs. Quader Leather Complex, Amin Tannery Ltd., Leather Industries of Bangladesh Ltd. (Unit-2) and Kalam Brothers have been allowed to export a total of 10 million square feet of wet-blue leather in this 2 million square feet.
The conditions under which wet-blue leather is allowed to be exported
Export policy 2018-21 must be followed; This permission will only apply to a specified amount of Wet Blue leather permitted for export. Will have to re-apply for subsequent exports.
Must export quality wet leather; The term of the export permit will remain in force till June 30, 2022; At the end of shipping, all the documents related to export have to be submitted to this branch; Exports must be made to the country to which the export is permitted, and the government may at any time prohibit the export of wet-blue leather.
