News Desk: Liberation War Affairs Minister AQM Mozammel Haque has said that there is no alternative to protect the forest to save the environment. Everyone's cooperation is needed for this. Those who have illegally occupied forest lands and built industries, factories and establishments should be evicted. He added that the eviction drive should start not from those who have built huts, but from those who have built big businesses, factories and high-rise buildings. However, he advised those living in poor forest lands not to be evicted without alternative arrangements.

He was speaking at a special meeting organized by Gazipur district administration at Kaliakair Upazila Parishad auditorium on Thursday (June 10) to free illegal encroachment of forest land, environmental pollution, river occupation and prevention of pollution. The minister said that the forest gazette was issued in 1986. There are various problems including the boundary complexity of private land with the land of forest department. It can be seen that CSA is in the name of forest department but in the name of SA record person, again SA, RSA is in the name of half of the land in the name of forest department and the other half in the name of person. Everyone's cooperation is needed to solve these complications. He said those occupying the river would also be evicted.

The present government is not giving concessions to anyone. Action is being taken against those who commit crimes and occupy them. Also most of the factories do not have any ETP plan. What is there is put off. Due to which the polluted liquid waste of the factory is falling into the rivers, canals and beels and polluting the water. These issues also need to be looked into. There are representatives of various industries here. You keep the ETP plan active in every factory. So that the water of rivers, canals and beels is not polluted. Gazipur Deputy Commissioner SM Tariqul Islam presided over the meeting organized by Gazipur District Administration with the overall cooperation of Kaliakair Upazila Administration.
