BNP involved in Hefazat-e-Islam violence: Obaidul Quader

News Desk: Awami League General Secretary and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader have said that everyone knows today that the BNP is directly and indirectly involved in the violence of Hefazat-e-Islam. He said the BNP was involved not only in sponsoring the recent violence in Hefazat-e-Islam but also in these violent incidents.

Obaidul Quader said this at an exchange meeting with officials of Rajshahi Road Zone, BRTC, BRTA on Tuesday morning. He virtually joined the meeting from his official residence. Mentioning that no one was arrested after seeing any party or Alem Ulama, the General Secretary of Awami League said that those who were directly involved in the violence, attacked houses and set fire to their houses were arrested after watching the video.

The Minister for Road Transport and Bridges instructed the concerned to make BRTA acceptable to the service recipients and said that although the harassment in this organization has decreased as compared to the past, there are complaints in some areas, they should be stopped. He also urged the concerned to take forward the construction work before the monsoon.
