News Desk: The government has imposed strict restrictions from April 14 to 21 to deal with the second wave of the corona. At this time, the bank was initially told to close, but later the central bank-backed away from the decision. Banks are instructed to keep open to a limited extent. However, on the second day of the ban and on the last working day of the week, banking activities are going on slowly.

On Thursday (April 15), Motijheel, Dilkusha, Dainik Bangla, Paltan, and the surrounding areas of the capital were visited. Most of the bank branches have less customer presence. No one is coming to the bank except for special needs.

Bank officials say customers have been withdrawing more and more money in the last three days on the news of the bank's closure. Besides, many people are not able to get out as public transport is closed due to restrictions. Due to these reasons, the pressure of the customer is less. Going to the local office of Sonali Bank in Motijheel, it can be seen that there is no such thing as a daily check-in the cash counter.

Many counters have no subscribers. Officers are sitting idle and spending lazy time. When asked, Deputy General Manager of Sonali Bank's local office Mohammad Moiniruzzaman said, "There were a lot of customers in the last three working days due to the news of 'lockdown' and closure of the bank. The transactions have also increased." Ordinary customers are failing to make the necessary transactions at that time. For this reason, even though the bank is open today, the customer crowd is less.

In addition, due to restrictions, the number of vehicles is less, so many people could not get out of the house. He said that as per the instructions of the central bank, transactions will be done in the bank from 10 am to 1 pm.

The bank will be open till 2.30 pm to complete post-transaction ancillary activities. The hygiene rules are being followed as per the instructions of the government. He said that no one is allowed to enter the branch without a mask. According to the bank staff, they were stopped at several police check posts on arrival. After giving the introduction of the bank, he left.

Although those who have come in the staff bus have no problem, they have to be more accountable in the case of coming in a private car. Mohammad Azhar Uddin, senior vice-president of the private sector Exim Bank's Motijheel branch, said transactions were taking place, but very little. Because many have already completed the necessary transactions.

On the way, the police interrogated him at the check post. However, after showing the bank card, they did not bother and left. He said he did not need a movement pass to come. A customer who came to Sonali Bank from Kamalapur said, "I deposited the FDR money after hearing that the bank is open." Didn't catch any lines. Because I was alone.
