Attack-vandalism at Awami League office in Brahmanbaria

News Desk: The miscreants attacked and vandalized the office of Brahmanbaria Union Awami League. The local Awami League has claimed that Jamaat-Shibir was involved in the incident.

The incident took place at Dharmandal Union in Nasirnagar Upazila on Thursday (April 8). Awami League leaders alleged that Jamaat-Shibir activists entered the Dharmandal Union Awami League office around 2pm on Thursday. At that time, they attacked and vandalized important items including chairs and tables. Pictures of Bangabandhu and the Prime Minister could not escape the violence. Upon receiving the news, the police rushed to the spot. However, no one involved was immediately arrested as the area was inaccessible. Police said they would investigate and take legal action against the culprits.

Brahmanbaria Assistant Superintendent of Police (Sarail Circle) Anisul Haque said, 'Dharmandal is a union far from Nasirganj police station. It takes a while for the police to get there. A few chairs and a table were found broken. The motive for the attack was not immediately clear. However, if a complaint is received, we will take action during the complaint period.
