Hili Correspondent: A mobile court has sentenced a man named Rostam Ali Akalu to 10 days in jail on charges of embezzling Tk 14,000 from a van driver for allegedly tempting him to get a house allotted by the Prime Minister in Hili, Dinajpur.
Hakimpur Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Mohammad Nur-e-Alam handed down the sentence to him on Monday evening. Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Mohammad Nur-e-Alam said Rostam Ali Akalu, 42, son of Wakil Uddin of Dakshin Madhabpara village in the same area, took Tk 14,000 for giving a house to Ferdous, a van driver from Chakviram village in Khatramadhabpara union of Hakimpur Upazila.
Rostam Ali Akalu was sentenced to 10 days imprisonment and Ferdous Ali was asked to return 14,000 Taka.
