Arrested in Cox's Bazar with yaba worth Tk 12 crore 41 lakh

Mohammad Tareq, Chittagong District Representative: RAB-7, Chittagong can know through secret news that some drug dealers are keeping yaba tablets in the yard of a house of Zafar Alam of Bara Habibpara village in Sadar ward 07 of Teknaf police station in Cox's Bazar district.

On the basis of the said news, when an expedition team of RAB-7, Chittagong conducted an operation at the said place on April 4, 2021, at 08:30 hrs, the RAB members chased accused Md. Mansur Alam (29), father Khorshed Alam, Sang. - South Rumaliyachhara, Ward No. 08, Thana-Sadar, District-Cox's Bazar. The expedition team said in a statement that the accused, who was later interrogated in front of witnesses, admitted that he had dug up soil in front of a chicken farm in his backyard and stored yaba tablets in a special way. According to the identification and identification of the accused, the accused was arrested along with 4,13,600 Yaba tablets hidden in two plastic bags under the ground in front of the chicken farm in his backyard.

During interrogation, it was learned that the accused had been bringing large consignments of Yaba tablets from Myanmar to the border area of ​​Teknaf for a long time and later selling them to drug dealers and wholesalers in different districts of Bangladesh including Teknaf, Ukhia, and Cox's Bazar. The estimated value of the recovered drugs is Tk 12 crore 41 lakh. The arrested accused and the recovered drugs have been handed over to Teknaf police station in Cox's Bazar district for further legal action.
