Girlfriend killed in Ashuila, boyfriend arrested

Ashulia Correspondent: After killing a lover named Shahida Akhter (31) in Dhaka's Ashulia for pressuring her to get married, Babu Akon, a heretical lover, packed her body and threw it in the Bangshai river. Based on the information given by the boyfriend, the police recovered the body of the woman from the Banshi river 5 days after the murder. Police arrested Babu Akon, accused of the incident, and sent him to court for a 7-day remand.

The woman's body was recovered from the Banshi river in the Nayarhat area of ​​Ashulia on Sunday afternoon. The arrested Babu Akon is the son of Yusuf of Kurgaon area of ​​Ashulia and the deceased Shahida Akter is the daughter of Abdul Quddus Bepari of Kolchar village in Hijla Upazila of Barisal.

He used to work with his parents in a local garment factory from a rented house in Kurgang area of ​​Ashulia. Ashulia Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Iqbal Hossain said Shahida went to meet her boyfriend Babu Akon on Wednesday night. When she went to meet him, Shahida pressed Babu to marry her. At one stage of the altercation, Babu strangled Sahida to death by wrapping a scarf around her neck.

Later, the body was dumped in the Banshi river in the Nayarhat area of ​​Ashulia. Shahid's father filed a general diary at Ashulia police station regarding the disappearance of his daughter. The search started from the source of that diary.

The alleged boyfriend Babu was detained for questioning on suspicion on the basis of various information. Later, based on the information given by him, Sahida's body was recovered 5 days after the murder. Earlier, on the night of March 31, Babu Akon sought the help of a local CNG driver named Nazrul Islam to take Shahida elsewhere. However, the CNG driver tactfully informed RAB-4 that night. Later, Radhab Babu Akon was arrested by the police on Saturday morning.
