Tourists stranded in St. Martin due to hostile weather returned today

News Desk: More than 400 tourists stranded due to hostile weather are returning to St. Martin on Sunday (October 25). They had been stranded on the island for the past three days. They are scheduled to return aboard a ship that left St. Martin this afternoon.

They were stranded on a Cox's Bazar tourist boat last Wednesday. On the other hand, 150 people on the island were stranded in Teknaf due to the closure of shipping.

In this regard, BIWTA's Chittagong Region Deputy Director Nayan Sheel said, "As the weather is normal, shipping has been allowed." If the situation is good, the tourist ship from Cox's Bazar will go to St. Martin. Tourists stranded on the island will return by that ship. '

The Cox's Bazar Meteorological Office said local warning signal No. 3 had been lifted off the coast of Cox's Bazar as the weather was normal. The river and the sea are calm. As a result, all types of vessels including fishing trawlers have been asked to operate.

St. Martin's Union Council Chairman. Nur Ahmed said, ‘Tourist ships are coming from Cox’s Bazar to take the stranded tourists. They will leave St. Martin on Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, residents of the island stranded in Teknaf will also be able to return.
