Health workers are providing direct services to the patients infected with Kovid-19 at the risk of their lives. Many workers died of corona while going to provide services. Many have recovered and returned to work.

Considering their abandonment, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced special incentives for health workers, including coronavirus fighters (who have provided direct medical care), doctors and nurses.

In view of this, on July 9, the Ministry of Finance announced a special one-time special honorarium equal to the basic salary for an additional two months as a special incentive. The names and ID numbers of doctors, nurses and health workers should be mentioned in the application to get the one-time special incentive. In addition, surname, office and salary grade, basic salary and one-time special honors should be mentioned.

In addition, the name and address of the hospital or institution in which the coronavirus patients were employed should also be written. A certificate from the regulatory authority or the Department of Health stating that the coronavirus was directly engaged in medical care must be attached to the application. In addition, the Chief Accounts and Finance Officer or DAO or UAO or DCAO certificate should be attached with the basic salary.

Those interested in getting special incentives should fill up a specific form and send it to the Department of Health or the Department of Nursing and Midwifery. The Department of Health or the Department of Nursing and Midwifery will check and sort the applications and make a list of suitable doctors, nurses and health workers for the honor. Later, the list of names will be sent to the Health Services Department of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. There will be another point of verification and selection.

In the final stage, the health care department will send the list of names to the finance department. If the finance department agrees to the list, the health service department will issue a government order. According to the Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) and the Society for Nurses Safety and Rights, 7,249 doctors, nurses and other health workers across the country have been infected so far. Of these, 100 doctors and 10 nurses died.
