Autumn Durga Puja starting from today

News Desk: Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the traditional Hindu community, is starting from today following the hygiene rules. This time the puja is being held only in a sattvic way by avoiding the issues related to the festival due to Corona Atimari.

The five-day puja will begin today with the sixth puja which will end on Monday, October 26 with the immersion of the idol on Vijaya Dashami. Devotees will now pray to the goddess to keep all the people of the world free from corona.

The leaders of the Bangladesh Puja Celebration Parishad and the traditional community have called upon the traditional community to organize and participate in the Durga Puja in full compliance with the hygienic guidelines prescribed by the government. Because, this year's pujo is not like other years. This time the goddess's side started in the atmosphere of Karona panic. Various religious ceremonies have been shortened this year to prevent coronavirus infection due to the corona epidemic. The Bangladesh Puja Celebration Council has termed this year's Durgotsab as 'Durga Puja' as it should be limited to Sattvik Puja by avoiding the issues related to the festival.

This time Mahalaya was on 16th September. Although Durga Puja is usually held after 7 days of Mahalaya, this time as per the calendar, Ashwin month 'Mal month' means evil month, so puja is being held in Kartik month.

According to the Puranas, King Surath first started worshiping Goddess Durga. This puja is called Basanti puja as it is performed in spring. Again, before the journey to rescue Sita from the hands of Ravana, Sriram Chandra organized Durga Puja on the date of the new moon in the autumn. This is why this autumn worship of the goddess is also called Akal Bodhan.

Ah the sixth puja will be completed on the first day of the festival on Thursday morning with kalparambha and in the evening with bodhan invitation and domicile. On this day, all the mandapa areas will be in Chandipath from morning.

Milon Kanti Dutt, president of the Puja Celebration Council, said, "Considering the Corona infection situation, no Kumari Puja will be celebrated in any mandapa in Dhaka this year." However, virgin worship may take place in a few places outside Dhaka.

Nirmal Kumar Chatterjee, general secretary of the council, said, "Due to Corona Atimari, this time the festival-related issues are being avoided and limited to sattvic worship." That is why I am calling this year's Durgotsab as 'Durga Puja'. On the seventh day, a special prayer will be held for the normal life of the world free from taxes, he said.

He said that this time there will be no cultural program in the puja following the instructions. Anjali has been instructed to take the help of Facebook Live during the donation. ‘No more than 25 to 50 people can come to the places where Anjali will be held directly.

I have instructed to close the puja mandapa by 9 pm after the evening aarti. The distribution of prasad and the procession of Vijaya Dashmi have been banned before the Durga Puja so as not to break the hygiene rules due to public gatherings.

Also, no songs other than devotional music should be played, no mic or PA set should be used, no visitors should be allowed in the puja mandapa 'too long' and visitors should be discouraged from entering after the evening break. He said.

According to the latest information provided by the Bangladesh Puja Celebration Council, Durga Puja is being held in 30,223 mandapas across the country this year. Last year, the number of Durga Puja mandapas across the country was 31,397.

Compared to last year, worship is being reduced in 1,175 mandapas this time. On the other hand, the number of puja mandapas in Dhaka metropolis this year is 233. Last year the number was 238. And in Dhaka district there are 840 pujas. This time there is less worship in only two mandapas than last year.

Puja is being held in 6,014 mandapas in Dhaka division this time. Last year it was held in 6,261 temples. Compared to last year, worship is being reduced in 550 mandapas in Chittagong division this time.

In this section 3 thousand 908 pujas will be held. Durga Puja is being held in 4,869 mandapas in Khulna division, 2,646 mandals in Sylhet division, 1,574 mandals in Mymensingh division, 1,601 mandals in Barisal division, 5,250 mandals in Rangpur division and 3,435 mandapas in Rajshahi division.

Dhakeshwari National Temple Mandapa, Ramakrishna Mission and Math Puja Mandapa, Ramna Kali Mandir and Anandamoyi Ashram, Barodeswari Kalimata Mandir and Crematorium, Siddheswari Kalimata, Bholanath Mandir Ashram, Jagannath Hall, Rishiparajan Pashmanda Gaupam Durga Puja will be held in other mandapas including Panitola temple in the market.

Members of the police, Ansar, RAB and other law enforcement agencies will be responsible for the security of every puja mandapa in the country including the capital Dhaka. In addition to the police and the RAB, volunteer forces will be on duty in almost every mandapa.
