News desk: Several local government elections were held in different areas of the country yesterday on Saturday. There were no party symbols in these elections. Many BNP leaders participated in it and won. The ruling party Awami League sees it as a victory for democracy. The general secretary of the party, Obaidul Quader, claimed that the democracy of this country is safe in the hands of Sheikh Hasina.

He said these things in a press conference at the Awami League president's political office in the capital's Dhanmondi on Sunday (March 10) afternoon. Obaidul Quader said that 231 local government elections including Comilla and Mymensingh City Corporation elections were completed yesterday. 60 percent people voted. The government did not interfere in the election. The elections were free and fair except for two isolated incidents. Quader said, today it is proof in the politics of Bangladesh that the democracy of this country is safe in the hands of Sheikh Hasina. The development and prosperity of Bangladesh is in the hands of Bangabandhu's daughter. As long as Bangladesh is in his hands, Bangladesh will not lose its way. He understands the language of people's eyes, the language of the mind, which BNP has failed to understand. That is why politics is losing its way. Awami League general secretary said that BNP leaders also participated in many places and won in some places.

There was no party symbol of Awami League in this election. Even after this election, there is no justification for BNP to speak against the government about the election. To blame, Nanda Ghosh is harboring such a mentality and that is what they are doing. At the same time, Obaidul Quader said in response to the question whether the visit of the BNP Secretary General and the US Ambassador to Singapore is just a coincidence, I was in the hospital. Fakhrul Sahib, the US ambassador, has not met anyone who has actually gone with me.
